IMG_0722-1 - We followed the fiirst supercell NE of Freedom, letting it go once it got ahead of us and knowing there were more storms developing to our southwest. So, we retraced our previous route to get in position for the second supercell E of Mooreland. We had an ideal viewing location for the second supercell that was coming up from SE of Woodward. We ended up seeing a couple of nice low-level mesocyclones try to spin up, but the rotation never could consolidate <1-2 km in diameter.  Near Curtis, OK.

We let the second supercell slide by to our north after a couple of rotating wall-clouds failed to produce. We set our sights on the third supercell, which was the southernmost supercell and which would become a more prolific tornado producer. We saw one tornado to our distant WSW, but I didn\'t have my camcorder or camera out at the time. This funnel cloud may or may not have been a tornado -- we could see intermittent dust kicked up undernearth it. EDIT: Actually I think this funnel cloud was the same as the previous tornado was saw to our distant WSW. I\'ll have to check.

As luck would have it, having been at the previous location for ~35 minutes, this tornado developed a few minutes after we packed up to head east and keep up with the storm. As such, for most of its life, we were driving eastward on US412 (US281 was closed to the north).
