Honeymoon
Maui, Hawaii
Honeymoon time!
I started planning our honeymoon in January of 2006. There were several locations on my "Want to go to" list, including Fiji, Australia, and London. Given that the budget was of a college-bound couple, I wasn't sure about any international visits. So, Hawaii seemed like the best option -- it's exotic yet familiar. We left MSP during the late morning of July 30th and arrived in Kahului, Maui, later that afternoon (accounting for setting our watches "back" 5 hours). We stayed on Maui until August 3rd, after which time we resided on the Big Island -- Hawaii. I'll refer to the "Big Island" as just that, so as to avoid confusion between "Hawaii" the state, and "Hawaii" the island. After almost a week on the Big Island, we flew back on the evening of August 9th, arriving in MSP near noon on August 10th (it was a long flight, made longer by the security-related delay in SEA).
